With violin, viola, and piano at the heart of her teaching, she combines playful methods that keep younger learners engaged with the structure and depth needed for exam preparation. Lessons take place either in Sam’s welcoming home studio or in the comfort of your own home — wherever the music feels right.
Your Personal Music Journal
Every learner receives their own personal music journal — a private online space where lessons come to life. After each session, Sam records notes and tracks progress, making it easy to see how far you’ve come. Parents and students can revisit moments through optional photos and videos, while weekly practice tips and gentle suggestions help keep the music flowing at home. It’s a joyful record of growth, built one note at a time.
Meet Sam
Sam has been making music since she was six. Inspired by her Waldorf schooling and early involvement in church music, she went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Cape Town.For over 15 years, she has been teaching private lessons, while also serving as a primary school music teacher at some of Cape Town’s most prestigious schools. Sam has performed with many established orchestras and ensembles.Her approach blends professional training with warmth and creativity — ensuring lessons are as inspiring as they are effective.
